     Starting a modern multiprofile medical centre in Kutaisi was a rather bold initiative of the president of Georgia Mr. Mikhail Saakashvili. The project was carried out under the direct supervision of the Minister of Health and Social Affairs- Lado Chipashvili. Today Z. Tskhakaia West Georgian National Centre of Interventional Medicine is one of the leading medical facilities in Europe. The most up-to-date medical equipment was installed here earlier then in other neighbouring countries. (2005-2008) Namely, Magnetic Resonance Tomography "Signa EXCITE HD 1,5 T" with full options (by "General Electrics") , 64 Slice CT "Somatom Sensation Cardiac " (by "Siemens"), Angiography "INNOVA" - (by "General Electrics"), Special equipment for narcosis and resuscitation by “Draeger” and modern monitoring systems with no analogies in the post-Soviet space. The medical centre cooperates with Emory (USA), Humboldt (Germany), Plzen (Czech Republic), Graz (Austria) university hospitals, where about 50 Georgian doctors and medical engineers have been trained. In 2006-2008 3 international conferences were held, around 700 American and European leading specialists paid a visit.

    Kakha Nuralidze

    Kakha Nuralidze was born in Kutaisi in November 16, 1973. He graduated from Kutaisi secondary school # 25 with a doploma of honor in 1990. The same year he entered Tbilisi State Medical University. In 1993 he occupied the position of a nurse in ICU of the military hospital # 367of the Russian army Transcaucasian group in Tbilisi. He took an internship in “ Anesthesiology and Resuscitation” there in 1996-1997.  more »
